Building a 7 figure business

When did 7 figures slide into our vocabulary so easily?
I feel like I blinked and it was no longer good enough or any kind of achievement at all to have a 6 figure or multiple 6 figure business.

It’s not that I’m against seven-figure goals. But there’s this underlying message that if you’re not hitting six or seven figures, you’re doing something wrong. It’s overwhelming and frankly, it’s a bit unfair, especially if you’re just starting out.

You might find yourself thinking, “What would I even do with a seven-figure business?” If you’re at the beginning of your journey, you should be able to enjoy the ride and serve your people well without this constant pressure. Remember, your business grows with you.

Here’s the thing:
You can’t copy the strategies of a 7 figure business and expect to succeed with them when you’re just starting out. Because you’re playing an entirely different game.

The strategies that work to maintain and grow at 7 figures are completely different than what it takes to grow a brand new or under 6 figure business.

Business is like Parenting

When my kids were little, I used to worry about them growing up too fast. A friend once told me, “Vickie, you’ll grow with them.”

And she was right.

We had so much fun through all their stages.
And it will be the same in your business.
Allow yourself to enjoy every step along the way instead of always looking to a far-off, often unreachable, goal.
If you’re making $10,000 in your business today, don’t stress about hitting seven figures. That’s not negativity; it’s realism. Set goals that make sense for where you are now.

Would it surprise you to know that only about 6% of entrepreneurs ever reach six figures?
If you’re not there yet, it’s okay. You’re doing just fine.

How to Scale Your Business

Whether you’re just starting out in business or you’ve got a solid footing beneath you, check out episode 5 of The Pulse on Human Design podcast. It’s all about delegating the things that you don’t need to have your hands on in your business. This will be key to growing your business without burning out.

Understanding what tasks are truly yours and delegating the rest is key to the growth of your business. But don’t rush this process. Scaling might not be a day-one or even a year-one thing. Let your business percolate and grow naturally.

When you’re having fun, you light up. And when you light up, you know you have something valuable to offer. Your energy will attract the right opportunities, invitations, and responses from the people you’re here to serve.

Setting Achievable Goals

It’s important to set achievable goals.
Seven figures may well be your reasonable goal. If so, go get ‘em tiger!
Six figures may be your stretch goal. You’ve got this!
Cracking 5 figures could be on the horizon for you. I know you can do it!!!

Whatever your goal, break it down into bite sized pieces.

What can you achieve this week?
This month?
This quarter?

What do you need to put in place in order to achieve it?
You’d best get cracking and doing the things. Because business is all about doing the things. No matter what your Human Design is! #sorrynotsorry

Celebrate the milestones you hit along the way.
Celebrate the lessons you learn as you go.
Celebrate YOURSELF! You’re doing it! You’re the real deal!

This isn’t just business. This is your life. This is how you’re spending your days.

Your business should be more a source of joy, than stress.
